TERMS AND CONDITIONS & GOOD TO KNOW

Dear guests

We are very pleased that you have chosen the Hotel Maria in Sils-Maria for your stay in the Engadine and would like to warmly welcome you today.
For the sake of good order, we would like to inform you about our terms and conditions below so that any misunderstandings do not arise (subject to general changes):

ROOM RESERVATION, ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

The reservation of a room usually becomes binding for both parties upon signing and returning your confirmation in a timely manner, which is included with every offer. This also applies to verbal reservations and reservations via email.

The room is usually ready for you from 3:00 p.m. on the day of your arrival. On your departure day, we ask you to vacate your room by 11:00 a.m.

 

GUARANTEE & DEPOSIT

When booking via telephone or internet, we reserve the right to record your credit card information (credit card number, expiry date and security number on the back of the credit card) in order to guarantee the booking or to request a deposit, which will be credited to our account at the Graubündner Kantonalbank in Chur is to be transferred.

 

CANCELLATION OF ROOM RESERVATION OR “NO SHOW”

Cancellations are handled in accordance with Article 160 of the Swiss Code of Obligations (OR). Swiss law applies exclusively. The place of jurisdiction is the Maloja/Engadin district court.

– Cancellation up to 15 days before arrival:          Free of charge for you
– Cancellation from 14 to 7 days before arrival:   50% of the arrangement price for the entire stay.
– Cancellation from 6 to 0 days before arrival:    100% of the arrangement price for the entire stay.

This regulation only comes into force if we cannot re-rent the room. This regulation also applies to late arrival or early departure!

CANCELLATION OF BANQUETS AND OCCASIONS

– Cancellations are handled in accordance with Art. 160 of the Swiss Code of Obligations (OR). Swiss law applies exclusively. The place of jurisdiction is the Maloja/Engadin district court. The following regulations apply to banquets, meals and other events:

– Cancellation up to 10 days before the event: free of charge for you

– Cancellation from 10 to 3 days before the event: 50% of the menu price (excluding drinks) of the number of people booked.

– Cancellation from 2 to 0 days before the event: 100% of the menu price (excluding drinks) of the number of people booked.

– Binding number of people: The binding number of people for an event must be announced at least 48 hours before the event.

 

CANCELLATION COSTS INSURANCE

We strongly recommend that you take out private cancellation insurance (for example ETI protection letter from TCS Switzerland). As a rule, all insurance companies or credit card companies offer the option of travel cancellation insurance.

 

CREDIT CARDS

We accept the following credit cards: – VISA and Mastercard Of course, you can also pay with cash, EC-direct, EC-Maestro or Postcard. AMEXCO and DINERS are not accepted.

EXCHANGE RATE SWISS FRANCIS TO EURO

The exchange rate between CHF and EURO depends on the current daily exchange rate.

 

HALF BOARD

For stays of at least two nights, we offer you the opportunity to book half board (breakfast and dinner) at particularly advantageous conditions. In principle, half board can only be booked for the entire duration of your stay.

 

CREDITS FOR MEALS NOT TAKEN AND OTHER SERVICES

If you check out at reception by 12:00 p.m. on the same day, you will receive the following credit for the dinner included in your half-board package:

– CHF 25.– per adult if you eat à la carte in one of our restaurants.
– CHF 15.– per adult if you eat out.

Services that are included in your arrangement or in the package week you have booked, but which you do not use, will not be refunded.

CHILDREN

Children stay in their parents’ room at particularly favorable conditions. Since these prices can vary, we ask you to find out the exact conditions at reception. As soon as you book your children’s own room, any child discounts will no longer apply.

FOR DOG OWNERS

The Hotel Maria is a dog-friendly hotel and you are welcome to bring your four-legged, house-trained friend with you (charges apply). The only exception is the Restaurant Maria (half-board restaurant), where dogs are not allowed.
We would like to draw your attention to the fact that you are fully responsible and liable for any damage caused by your dog. We also reserve the right to charge for additional cleaning costs that go beyond the normal amount.

We would also like to point out that large dogs (St. Bernards, Newfoundlands, Bernese Mountain Dogs, etc.) are not allowed in our Stüva Marmoré restaurant due to space constraints.

In the Stüva it is also not permitted under any circumstances for your dog to sit on a chair or bench, not even in a basket or on a blanket. Every dog, without exception, belongs under the table or under the bench. Thank you for your understanding.
