We are delighted to welcome you. Beginning May 1st 2018 we came to an agreement with Karin Mockli and her sister to lease and manage the hotel Maria in Sils in the Engadin Valley. Since that day we have been dedicated to maintaining the long standing traditions of this gorgeous hotel. We are commited to holding on to the rich history and appeal of the hotel right down to the local Swiss Pine, while ushering in new traditions that will cary the hotels’ legacy into the future.

May we introduce ourselves briefly?

Regula Ludwig, born on 2 January 1966 in Bern, completed her basic education at the beginning of the 80s at the renowned Grand Hotel Victoria Jungfrau in Interlaken. After working various hotels throughout Switzerland her hotel training landed her the head receptionist position at The Grand Hotel Kronenhof in Pontresina where she would meet her future husband and business partner, Andreas Ludwig. Within 5 years Regula, along with Andreas, took over the managerial duties of The Albana in Silvaplana, a four star hotel. From there they went on to add to their resume the management of Hotel Margna from 2001 through 2017. With the knowledge and experience amassed through their collective careers, Regula and Andreas decided in 2017 that it was time to venture out on their own.

Andreas Ludwig, born on 4 February 1963 in Schiers/GR, completed his basic education, after secondary school at the beginning of the 80s, in the famous Dolder Grand Hotel in Zurich. After completing school Andreas worked various jobs in Switzerland and did some traveling abroad. Soon after his travels Andreas enrolled at The Swiss Hotel MAnagement School in Lucerne, graduating in 1989 as a federally certified hotelier/restauranteur, HF SHL. Andreas moved to Engadin Valley in 1991 to take a position as vice director at the Grand Hotel Kronenhof in Pontresina. While there he completed the course for the restauation (US, cycle 22) of the Swiss Hotelier Association. From 1996 through 2001 Andreas managed The Hotel Albana in Silvaplana together with his partner Regula Ludwig. The two went on to manage The Hotel Margna in Sils for more than 16 years.
